Lines Of Life and Modern Icons

Lines Of Life is my oil on canvas collection, which I started during the autumn of 2022. The sizes and forms of the paintings vary from (50 x 50) cm till (180 x 120) cm.

I am using acrylics as base and then building the piece with oils, and there are usually several layers. I like to draw and prepare the subject by charcoal, which I also oftentimes want to be seen through the layers. I like to use leaf metal and archival quality silver and gold dust as effetcs. Sometimes handling the canvas very roughly to get texture on it. Often using limited palette and palette knife.

The subject matter is often a horse, sometimes a woman, a lady, even from centuries back.  I love human face and body.  

​

I have noticed, that I use these symbols often: hearts, The Moon, The Sun, stars, pigeons. I think they mean to me - like stated earlier - Love, Peace, Hope, Unity, Freedom, Humanity, Forgiveness, Healing and Courage.

 

I know suffering belongs to our Life, and Life can be very rude. But My Heart is pumping for the signs of Change.

Modern Icons

A beautiful constant collection of 90 x 90 x 4 cm pieces - at the moment 10 works - containing a beautiful androgynous face of an angel, if you like, having a halo over their head, rounded with flowers. A hand with a wound, a pigeon, a beating heart on the chest. Stars surrounding the head. Framed with gypsum - stencils made frames covered with tile pieces, mica pigments and resin. Carrying the message of love and forgiveness. Bright colour on the backround.
